BREAKING ILLEGAL COVENANT

We must acknowledge that when we receive Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, this is known as being born again. We must understand that it is our spirit that is regenerated (Galatians 2:20).

The soul and the body remain the same. That is why the Scripture says we must present our bodies as a living sacrifice, and not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:1–2).

The renewing of the mind and presenting our body as a living sacrifice is a continuous and lifelong activity. The spirit of a regenerated person, after death of Jesus Christ can be likened to when God broke the Israelites free from captivity in Egypt (Exodus 12:31–33). For the Old Testament is a shadow of the things to come in Jesus Christ (Hebrews 10:1).

A born-again believer’s soul and body can be likened to when God told the Israelites: “Go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to your fathers — to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob — to give to them and their descendants after them” (Deuteronomy 1:8).
