TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR EMOTIONS!

It is essential to look at how Jesus dealt with His emotions to fully grasp the psychology behind emotion. Then, one of the officials nearby slapped Him in the face, and Jesus replied, “Why did you strike Me?” (John 18:22, 23).

In order to be able to act just as Jesus responded with love and not anger we must understand that we are spirit, soul and body, knowing that our spirit in union with the spirit of God is our true identity, not our soul and not the flesh (Genesis 1:26, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Galatians 2:20).

Jesus responded from His true identity, which is the nature of God and love. If He were to respond as His emotions dictated, it would have been anger. When He was struck in the face, His body felt the hurt, sent a signal to His brain, then to His mind, and lastly to His emotions.

His emotions were restrained, and He responded from His spirit because His identity is in God. His brain, thoughts, mind, emotions and His body all responded to His spirit. How do you respond to your emotions when triggered in church, at work, when driving, on the bus, on the train, and when you are out and about?
