PROPHECY: INNER STRENGTH TO SPEAK GOD’S MESSAGE TO PEOPLE

It is important to know that one of the major hindrances to prophecies and the move of God on earth is the enemy, Satan (Rev 12:17).

The channels through which the hindrances are found are the world, the flesh, and evil spirits which can be traced to disobedience and lack of a consecrated life (Rom 12:1, Gal 5:16, Daniel 10:12–13).

A person who seeks to prophesy must ensure to live an obedient and consecrated life. The person must be free from conforming to the world what we can see as the scripture confirms that Adam and Eve yielded to the fruit they saw in their environment rather than obey God’s word (Gen 3:6, Rom 12:2, 2 Cor 4:18).

Also, a prophet must walk by the Spirit rather than sowing to their flesh when prophesying, as this will hinder the ability to deliver God’s message to the people (Gal 5:16).

Lastly, evil spirits have been a major hindrance to prophecy and the move of God, as we can see with Daniel:

Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days.” (Dan 10:12–13)

A person who desires to prophesy must be obedient to the word of God by the power of the Holy Spirit and also live a consecrated life (1 Cor 14:1, Gal 5:16, Rom 12:1–2, Joshua 3:5)
